Katherine Farady MD General & Cosmetic Dermatology and Austin Dermatology & Vein joined together in 2021 to operate under the name Farady Dermatology Associates with two locations serving the Austin community. We have been serving Austin patients for more than 25 years and offer medical and cosmetic dermatology services.
We are all passionate about providing the highest quality dermatologic care with an emphasis on treating the person and not just the disease. We are committed to providing patient-centered quality care and our team of providers have a vast amount of experience. Our team has kept up with modern dermatology technologies, including tools, restorations and innovative methods of achieving and maintaining optimal skin health. While our expertise in dermatology tools and techniques has evolved over time, our commitment to our patient’s comfort and well-being has been consistent since we began our practices. We uphold this commitment with thorough and gentle dermatology treatment, as well as educating our patients to have a better skincare regimen outside of our office.
With general dermatology, our team examines your skin and takes preventative steps to avoid problems like melanoma. However, these issues can still occur over time. If we find spots on your skin that cause concern, we will help you address them.
We care for your well-being.

Dr. Christopher Chu
Board-Certified and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatopathology
General Dermatology & Dermatopathology
I was born in Arlington, Texas to two Taiwanese immigrants who moved here to pursue the American dream. After graduating high school in Austin, I stuck around at UT Austin, double majoring in Plan II Liberal Arts and Neurobiology. College is when I really fell in love with Science. I loved teaching, to understand concepts deeply, and I satisfied this craving by tutoring other students in biology, chemistry, and physics. Trying to keep an open mind, I studied abroad, learning about alternative medicine in Kunming, China. Afterward, I trained at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, then a Dermatology residency at Penn State in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Wanting to treat my patients as comprehensively as possible, I completed a dermatopathology fellowship to help me read skin biopsies. I then managed to convince a special girl to move back with me to Austin to build a life together.
In my free time, my wonderful wife and I love spending time with our twin girls and our black Labrador, trying new recipes, and hiking the most strenuous trails we can find. I have the unique pleasure of having a wife who is also a Dermatologist, and our guilty pleasure is nerding out over new breakthroughs and studies in Dermatology journals.
My special interests include complex medical dermatology and dermatopathology.
